Munich vein practice on Tal
The Munich vein practice on Tal was founded in 1990 by Dr. U. Taucher, and emerged seamlessly from the existing practice for vein disease, which was founded in 1987. The practice specialises exclusively in the treatment of vein and vascular complaints. One in two adults will be confronted with serious problems or complications caused by vein disease at least once in his or her lifetime, at least temporarily.

The Munich Day Clinic for Leg Disorders uses a new three-step procedure to remove spider veins and varicose veins in an especially gentle and effective manner. The medical director Dr. med. Uli Taucher reports.
Munich, autumn 2007. The intense sunbathing of the past few months has left its mark. Our tan fades and we are shocked to discover blue veins that curl unattractively under our skin. Two factors are important here: "While the infrared radiation from the sun increases blood flow in the skin, the UV rays contribute to the development of sunburn (=dermatitis). Both are catalysts that cause new blood vessels to form", explains Dr Taucher. In people with that predisposition, these can "burst" and become visible as spider veins. But spider veins and varicose veins are not only an aesthetic problem. Without treatment, faulty veins can trigger thrombosis or embolisms. The Munich Day Clinic for Leg Disorders, which Dr. Taucher heads, has been caring for the beauty and health of afflicted legs since 1990. The vein specialist deals with every patient’s problems and questions in detail: "We draw up an individual treatment plan for each patient, based on the type of complaint and family history", says Dr. Taucher.
New 3-step procedure - the phlebologist from Munich is the only doctor in southern Germany to apply a 3-step procedure to remove spider veins and varicose veins. "Our aim is to treat spider veins as gently and effectively as possible - and our special procedure is the best way to do this." The first step is to remove larger blood vessels by means of sclerotherapy. A skin laser is applied to the finer blood vessels in the second step. A cosmetically flawless result is achieved by removing the smallest veins by means of the radiofrequency procedure in the third step. Patients can usually leave the clinic on the day of treatment and resume their normal activities. So there is no reason not to take up a new sporting challenge or go for a leisurely stroll through Munich.
