Munich vein practice on Tal

The Munich vein practice on Tal was founded in 1990 by Dr. U. Taucher, and emerged seamlessly from the existing practice for vein disease, which was founded in 1987. The practice specialises exclusively in the treatment of vein and vascular complaints. One in two adults will be confronted with serious problems or complications caused by vein disease at least once in his or her lifetime, at least temporarily.

Today, varicose veins are easy to treat without the painful surgical removal that used to be necessary. Modern, gentle and minimally invasive methods such as the "VNUS-Closure/Celon method", now available at our practice, can make your legs look good again within a short time and also remove any complaints.

The Munich Day Clinic for Leg Disorders uses a new three-step procedure to remove spider veins and varicose veins in an especially gentle and effective manner. The medical director Dr. med. Uli Taucher reports.

Munich, autumn 2007. The intense sunbathing of the past few months has left its mark. Our tan fades and we are shocked to discover blue veins that curl unattractively under our skin. Two factors are important here: "While the infrared radiation from the sun increases blood flow in the skin, the UV rays contribute to the development of sunburn (=dermatitis). Both are catalysts that cause new blood vessels to form", explains Dr Taucher. In people with that predisposition, these can "burst" and become visible as spider veins. But spider veins and varicose veins are not only an aesthetic problem. Without treatment, faulty veins can trigger thrombosis or embolisms. The Munich Day Clinic for Leg Disorders, which Dr. Taucher heads, has been caring for the beauty and health of afflicted legs since 1990. The vein specialist deals with every patient’s problems and questions in detail: "We draw up an individual treatment plan for each patient, based on the type of complaint and family history", says Dr. Taucher.

New 3-step procedure - the phlebologist from Munich is the only doctor in southern Germany to apply a 3-step procedure to remove spider veins and varicose veins. "Our aim is to treat spider veins as gently and effectively as possible - and our special procedure is the best way to do this." The first step is to remove larger blood vessels by means of sclerotherapy. A skin laser is applied to the finer blood vessels in the second step. A cosmetically flawless result is achieved by removing the smallest veins by means of the radiofrequency procedure in the third step. Patients can usually leave the clinic on the day of treatment and resume their normal activities. So there is no reason not to take up a new sporting challenge or go for a leisurely stroll through Munich.

If you want to experience this you should start planning today. Vein and vascular complaints are best remedied in the cooler months of the year, recommends Dr. Uli Taucher. He is the director of the Munich Clinic for Leg Disorders, which he founded in 1990. He particularly recommends a new gentle procedure that removes varicose veins and spider veins quickly and, above all, painlessly.

Spring will be back next year, life will move outside, and men and women will want to show off their flawless legs. However, almost one in two adults hides their legs from the eyes of others because of swollen legs, spider veins and varicose veins.

As well as being unsightly, these conditions are medically risky. Unless treated in time, faulty veins can trigger thromboses or embolisms. Regular endurance sports can help, but it is very rarely possible to completely prevent vein conditions.

Effective compression treatments can be used to treat less serious vein disease. If they do not work, varicose veins should be removed surgically. The Munich Clinic for Leg Disorders specialises in the gentle remedy of vascular complaints. At the top of the list of the most effective treatment methods is minimally invasive foam sclerotherapy. All it requires is the insertion of a small catheter into the faulty vein. This is used to inject a sclerotherapy solution that has been converted to foam. This foam fills the vein completely and is therefore more effective than traditional liquids. Foam sclerotherapy does not require anaesthetic. The patient can leave the clinic as soon as treatment is over and is completely recovered the next day.

These advantages make Dr. Taucher's clinic especially attractive to patients who wish to have surgery for aesthetic reasons. Nice legs make people self-confident. After successful vein treatment, women and men can once again show off their bare legs.

Winter and spring are good times to have varicose veins removed, partly because it allows women and men to show off their nice legs in the summer, and partly because operations are not recommended in the summer as veins expand in high temperatures.
